What is the difference between fascia and soffit?
The fascia is the vertical board that caps the rafter ends and carries the guttering, while the soffit is the horizontal panel beneath the roof overhang that allows ventilation into the attic space. Together they seal the roofline and keep weather and pests out
How much does it cost to replace gutters, fascia and soffits in the UK?
Current price guides put full fascia-and-soffit replacement at ≈ £150 per linear metre, with uPVC guttering averaging £45 per metre; for a small semi-detached house that works out to around £2,750–£3,400 including labour and scaffolding.
Do the gutters have to come off when you replace fascia boards?
